Dressing for your Wedding
You’ve done all the right things and she said “YES!” when you proposed. Congratulations!
Now the hard work begins. Organizing the wedding. She may take care of a lot of the details or you’ll share in the responsibilities but one thing is for sure, on your wedding day, you will have to stand next to a gorgeous woman and look your very best.
What will you wear?
Now you have some decisions to make: rent or buy, tuxedo or wedding suit, formal or funky, two-piece or three-piece, what’s the budget, what will the best man and groomsmen wear?
These are not always simple questions but the good news is that we are here to help.We have been dressing men for a very long time and can help with almost every aspect of getting you and your wedding party looking and feeling incredible for your big day.We say almost because the one thing we don’t do is rentals.
There are a few reasons for this: We believe you should be the only person who has been married in your suit, it is one of the most important days of your life after all;
• fit is everything and while your rented tux may have an adjustable waistband, there is nothing quite like the feeling of being in a tuxedo or suit that was custom fitted and tailored to fit you like a glove (a service we offer in house by the way);
• While renting may seem more economical, at the end of the day, when you return your rental, you are left with nothing. We don’t believe that is a wise investment.
We offer a great selection of wedding suits, two and three-piece, and are one of the rare menswear boutiques to carry modern fit, 100% Super 130 wool tuxedos!
We also carry all the accessories and wedding gifts you may need for yourself of your party: pocket squares, ascots, cuff links, ties, bow ties, dress shirts, tie clips, tuxedo shirts, shoes and yes, shirt studs! We have a large network of suppliers so if we don’t have it in store, we’ll do everything we can to find it for you.
Now that we got that out of the way we can focus on what we believe is a wise investment – a great suit or tux, tailored to fit you perfectly and that you will get years of enjoyment and wear out of.
SUGGESTED PURCHASE TIMELINE FOR THE GROOM
Here is a suggested timeline for your suit shopping:
- Shopping – 8 weeks prior
- Purchase and first fitting – 6 weeks prior
- Alterations – (7 to 14 days)
- Second fitting – 3 weeks prior
- (Alterations if required)
- Pick up suit and accessories – 1 week prior
- Try on suit and accessories – 3 days prior
- Wedding Day
If you choose to have a suit custom made, count 4 weeks for the suit to be made. Delivery should be at least 4 weeks before the wedding to allow for any further adjustments or alterations.
The timeline can be much longer or a little shorter (even a lot shorter in case of emergency – we’ve actually turned wedding suits around in under 36 hours) but this timing should ensure a smooth, stress free experience.
Groomsmen
The timeline for groomsmen suits is very similar.
We suggest that the more groomsmen you have the earlier you start. This is especially true if your groomsmen have significantly different body types and sizes. The increased time can be used to find a specific look or style or to special order sizes.
Feel free to come see us to discuss any needs or concerns you may have.
